Final Submission Links Video Presentation: Artstation Post: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/g0009L Blog: https://kevinsrecord.blogspot.com/ I’ve been updating my software documentation to include information to help me in the future I tried to import my character and clothes into my USD Omniverse scene but there were some problems with it and I haven’t been able to figure out why it wasn’t working. For some reason the asset wouldn’t save and by extension wouldn’t update in the other scene. The assets also don’t appear correctly. Since it seems to not work within the USD Omniverse I tried to upload it into a new scene but I don’t think I uploaded it correctly so it doesn’t appear well and I’m not sure how to fix this. I plan on continuing this project past this class.
10 Week Plan Based on the class syllabus that I developed for my fashion independent study, this is sort of what I see the project timeline looking like. Week 01 Project Idea Development and Finalize Idea, Week 02 Concept Art, Week 03 Block Out, Week 04 1st Pass of High Resolution Model: Detailed Sculpt of Nude Character, Week 05: Midterm 2nd Pass of High Resolution Model: Continue to add detail and polish to the high resolution character by adding accessories and clothing (sculpting), Week 06 Low Resolution (retopologizing) of characters and clothes with good topology Week 07 Rig??, Week 08 Texture, Week 09 Import into game engine, Week 10 Documentation and Bug Fixes, and Week 11: Finals Publish Findings
This is my first blog post. Essentially the point of this blog for at least the next 11 weeks is to work on a project for my DIGM 540 class. Some ideas that I had: Idea 01: Essentially I want to work on my master thesis and use this blog as a way to organize my thoughts. In addition, I believe getting my teacher and peer input could be very beneficial, especially considering the premise of my thesis is about game design education. Idea 02: I am currently taking an independent study course with Kathleen Martin in order to understand and how to execute the character pipeline. I'm hoping to learn how to sculpt characters, implement Clo / Marvelous Designer for the character's clothes, and then be able to fully render it out into a game engine like Unreal Engine 5.
